Borax is the sodium salt form of the weak Boric Acid. At it's heart are four atoms of Boron. Borax occurs naturally in the soil. When ingested it reacts with the hydrochloric acid in the stomach to form Boric Acid and Sodium Chloride (table salt).
Modern industrial farming methods and the extensive use of fertilisers has lead to plants and vegetables having a much decreased level of Boron. Furthermore, food processing and certain cooking methods further reduce the available Boron in the food we now eat. We should be getting around 3 to 5 mg of Boron a day but most of us are lucky if we get just 1 mg and we often don't even get that.
Getting our Boron levels back to a healthy level will greatly help to alleviate or eliminate many health issues we commonly suffer. These include:
We should getting around 3 to 5 mg of Boron daily and this is an ideal maintenance dose to take to ensure our levels are right. For treatment of specific conditions such as arthritis, for example, you may wish to take a higher dose (maybe 10mg or so) until the condition feels better and then drop to the daily maintenance dose. Always build up to higher doses to avoid a Herxheimer reaction and take higher doses in multiple small quantities througout the day. For other protocols such as a Fluoride detox you may be looking at daily doses of around 100mg.
Borax and Boric Acid in pure form are a power and can be inconvenient and hard to take and get the correct dosage. It is recommended to make a solution that is much easier to regulate and can be more easily added to drinks, etc.
Borax is used as an insecticide and pesticide. It is used in sewage systems and as an ingredient to many detergents and cleaning agents.
Borax / Boric Acid are labelled as an irritant and general health hazard.
In concentrate form it can indeed be a serious eye irritant and, to a lesser extent, a skin irritant. If breathed in it can irritate the upper respiratory system and cause coughing and even breathing difficulty.
However, at lower concentrations Borax / Boric Acid can be very safe and the recommended dosages are all way below the levels that should cause any concern.
Borax and Boric Acid are banned in most countries and, as with MMS, it cannot be sold as a suppliment or medication. Therefore, the information provided on this website about health uses of Borax and Boric Acid is purely for information only.
